Flexibility
The iRobot Braava Jet M6 robot mop isn't a traditional vacuum, but it is designed to clean up sticky spills and other household dirt. It removes dust and dirt off of hard surfaces (no carpets) and then sprays cleaning solution and water onto its pads to scrub the floor. After the pad has been saturated, it dries quickly due to a quiet fan. The bot then drives back to its dock, where it sucks up the dirty liquid and refills with fresh cleaning solution. The process continues until it can't find any additional stains or dirt or until the battery runs out.
Although it's most suitable for clean floors, the m6 can do decently at maneuvering around rugs. It's not a robot that you can operate without touching. You'll need to connect to a mat for cleaning (disposable or reusable -
irobot floor cleaner provides both) and fill up the reservoir with cleaning solution and water. Cleaning solutions and additional pads is a constant expense, just as the dock and the small reservoir are subject to regular maintenance.
The m6 is an excellent choice for homes with large spaces that want to have the option of mopping and vacuuming. The Clean Base automatically empties and refills debris and liquid for up to 60 days, and iRobot OS lets you set specific cleaning preferences by room. You can also command the m6 by voice when it's connected to Wi-Fi and is paired with an Alexa or Google Assistant device.
The m6 also comes with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it learn your home's floor plan 7x faster than the previous models. This technology helps the m6 identify your furniture and create maps to aid in more targeted cleaning. It is also able to avoid areas that you've told it to avoid like toys or pet dishes.
