How to Replace a CR2450 battery
The BMW key fob provides security and convenience at the click of the button. However, over time the battery inside your BMW key fob will be damaged, and require replacement in order for it to continue working correctly. Knowing how to replace the BMW key fob battery can help you get back on the road quickly and easily.
There are a variety of BMW keyfobs. However they all utilize the same kind of battery that is a CR2450 coin-cell battery. The small round battery is available in most stores for less than $1 per unit. In addition to being readily available, CR2450 batteries are also extremely easy to install and remove from the key fob.
To replace the CR2450 batteries in your BMW look for the tab that releases the metal valet inside the fob. Once the metal valet has been removed, you can locate the small access port that hides the key battery on the front of your fob. Using a flat screwdriver, remove the cover and expose the battery. After the old battery has been removed, insert a new one with the positive side facing up and then put it back together.
After the new battery is installed, test the key fob to make sure that it functions in a proper manner. Consult your BMW dealer if the key fob isn't responding. How do I replace the CR2032 Side Indent Battery
The CR2032 side indent battery that is included in the

Make sure to make sure that the polarity matches. You can also find replacement batteries in many auto parts stores and on the internet.
The process is slightly different depending on whether your BMW is equipped with the "diamond key fob". You cannot replace the CR2016 battery since it's different from a CR2032, CR2025 or a CR2032. You can test if it works by rotating the CR2016 with conductive aluminum foil. If it isn't working, you'll have to cut off the plastic fob and expose the battery. Then, you can solder into a replacement.
The majority of BMW key fobs come with an access port that can be opened using the edge of a metal blade from another key or a flat screwdriver.
