Thieves have access to your vehicle's OBD by using a laptop, a mobile application, and a few cables that can be bought on the internet for less than PS50. Once they have access, they can do anything they want including resetting your vehicle's fault codes to tuning your car, or taking it away in less than a minute.

It communicates with the vehicle's ECU (Engine Control Unit), using the CAN Data Circuit. It is not detected by any scanners for RF or code grabbing. To utilize an OBD hacking device, you'll must have a laptop with software capable of interpreting the OBD protocol, which is available for less than PS100 on eBay or Amazon. You will also require a cable with OBD pins connected to the CAN Bus. These cables can be bought on eBay or Amazon for PS50.
