In our tests, we observed that the iRobot S9+ cleaned thoroughly and efficiently a range of floor surfaces, including hard and medium-pile carpets. It also performed well on tiles, vinyl, and laminate flooring. It also did a nice job of maneuvering between furniture and objects although it struggled a bit with stairs, where it can accidentally crash into things like bookcases.
We liked the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin when it's full, which greatly minimizes the need to be hands-on with maintenance. The dust bin should last for about 30 loads or a month and half. You'll need to replace the filter on a regular basis (as recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very noisy when it operates which makes it a great choice for families with children or pets.

The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums has some problems with floors that are not fully covered. It may miss fur and small objects and tends to bump things like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as some other models we've tested and the whirring sounds can be distracting.
Roborock V3S Pro
The
robot vacuum for carpet doesn't come with the same features as some of the more expensive ones we've tested, but it does cover the basics. It has a huge enough dust bin to hold a lot of dirt before it's empty, and its mop and vacuum system works great on both hard floors and low-pile carpets. It's also very quiet and we could watch TV while it was cleaning without feeling like it was bombarding us with noise.
Our testers loved how easy it was to set up and use, and they were amazed by its ability to get all the messes off their floors. It even did a pretty good job of picking up pet hair and messes from carpeting, but it was not as effective in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. They found the app easy to use and easy to use, and were able to program the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to reduce the amount they had to do manually. The V3S Pro did not make it into any of our top picks lists of trusted sources who conduct hands-on tests, however it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient.
