Yo-Jin-Bo

Whether you're into anime or not Yo-Jin-Bo is among the few official visual novels to hit the Windows store. It's easy to see the reason. The fantasy setting is a nod towards feudal Japan, and the characters are adorable and cuddly, though somewhat insecure. The story also has a bit of geekiness thrown in for good measure.

Insofar as Yo Jin-Bo's character is concerned, there's a triumvirate of main characters to keep you occupied which includes the previously mentioned Yo, the oh so adorable Jin and the petty psychopath Ittosai. The story is set in feudal Japan and is a tale of fantasy where a princess and her guardians go on the run. The secret document found in a scrapped vehicle by the ruffian might be related to the princess's place of residence.

The storyline also ties into the main characters their relationships. Unlike most visual novels, the characters are interconnected, which is a great thing. The plot is in a position to be a distraction in the event that the characters are separated from each other.
