For example, whether you wear the traditional Native American headdress at a music festival or wearing blackface for Halloween, many Black people feel that it is a form of patronizing behavior.
A dominant group could also take elements from minority cultures. However, they can also use intellectual property of the minority group. Blackfishing is one instance. It is important to remember that people of color have a long history of being marginalized and deprived of rights. For example, when you see a person of color dressed in blackface for Halloween, you should consider the history of black people being excluded.
