The African wild ass is the source of the domestic donkey, which was originally from Africa. Depending on the species that the domestic donkey is a part of, it could be classified as a subspecies belonging to the wild ass,

Appropriateness in popular culture
We frequently see instances in which an established culture adopts elements of a minority's culture. This practice, known as cultural appropriation, may result in a lack of respect from minority members.
