There are many instances in which an dominant culture is able to adopt elements of the culture of a minority. This practice, known as cultural appropriation can lead to feelings of disdain in minority groups. In addition to incorporating elements of cultures that are not native to the minority the dominant group may also benefit from intellectual property of the minority group.
