The Block's Elyse Knowles has shared a glimpse into her agonising battle with dermatitis.
The 31-year-old model, who has suffered from skin conditions for years, revealed her latest affliction on Monday by posting a closeup picture of her extremely inflamed finger to Instagram.
Parts of her skin had flaked off, exposing sections of raw, red flesh. 'My finger is raw as F. Dermatitis wins,' Elyse captioned the painful looking image. Dermatitis refers to a category of non-contagious conditions where the skin is left looking dry, swollen and discoloured.

One of the most common forms of the condition is 'contact dermatitis' which occurs when the skin comes in contact with an irritant.
In contrast, 'atopic dermatitis' is caused by a combination of factors like dry skin, environmental conditions, and bacteria on the skin.
