Be wary of ushers. They are trained to intervene when necessary. If they kick your shoes out then you should leave the theater. They might also check your ID at entry. If they find that you are not 18 years old, then you must be asked to go out.
If you are younger than 21, you must bring a note from a parent/legal guardian. If you are being accompanied by a child who is under 11 years old You must also be in the company of an adult aged who is 21 or over.
Films that have an "X" rating don't make sense anymore.
The name X is misleading to indicate the film's rating. It is not a registered trademark of the Motion Picture Association of America or Classification and Ratings Administration. There is no reason for assigning an X rating to the film if it's not making money.
The X rating was not used for assigning film ratings to films targeted towards older audiences, but it was used to categorize films that had violent content. However, X isn't the only false movie rating. A lot of theaters will not show X-rated movies which can hurt their potential box office. Newspapers aren't allowed to run ads for X rated movies and TV channels refuse to show censored versions of X films. This is a bad business decision, and has led to a recent push to reform the system.
The industry of film ratings has evolved. The NC-17 rating has replaced the X rating. It is the most effective alternative to the X rating.
