Another reason the electric RC cars are good is because you don't have to deal with the mess of carrying around gallons of nitro or gas. You also don't have to fill fuel tanks or start big engines. With the push of a button, the electric motor starts up and gets going. With a quick charge and some extra rechargeable batteries, you can have a long day of fun.
Think about this. New cars are built better and lasting longer now than they ever have. Therefore, used cars have a longer life and can offer you many years of trouble free service. Many cars will go well over 100,000 miles if you do proper maintenance. If you look hard enough, take your time and be patient, you can find some awesome used cars at great prices.
So if you need a spare part and can't seem to find one in your local auto part store, then you would do yourself a favor to check a junk yard where you can get salvage parts. You may have to search several junkyards but it sure beats having to order a spare part from a manufacturer as well as make financial sense.

You can race more than one car per slot and change lanes, make passing moves or blocking moves, program in pits tops, ghost cars, yellow flags etc. This is much more like the real motor sport. There are sets where you can race 8 cars at the same time on a 2 lane slot car set. They are more expensive than the analog sets.
