Saab Key Programming

Saab cars built since about 1994 have an immobilizer system that is based on codes for keys. A new transponder is required in order to enable the addition of an extra key, and special programming. This is usually done by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.

The problem is that this could be quite costly. It is recommended to always have a spare set of keys in your possession.

Transponder key

The transponder is a piece of key that is equipped with an electronic chip. This chip sends a signal when the key is put in the ignition. Jumpstarting the battery
