Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
A robot vacuum is the ideal tool for maintaining an orderly home. It can remove pet hair, dust and other surface debris before it causes a bigger problem.
Certain robots can connect to smart assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant to provide a hands-free experience. Look for models that can be recharged and continue cleaning where they left off.
1. iRobot s8
This smart robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for many homes. It features a superb navigation system that incorporates GPS and laser sensors. It also has many features and controls accessible via the app. It also comes with a useful feature that lets you add Cleaning zones for certain areas that need extra attention and Keep Out zones where you don't want it to be. Like all Roomba devices, it gets new software updates that make it even more efficient over time.
It's expensive, but it's also among the most advanced robot vacuums that ZDNet has tested. It comes with a powerful battery that can vacuum an entire home in less than two hours, and it can switch between mopping and vacuuming at the touch of one button. And, unlike other self-emptying robots that require you to empty the bin after each run, it automatically emptys itself into the larger waste container that is above its charging dock.
It's got a range of other features that make it an excellent option for most homes that include intelligent obstacle avoidance that uses the camera as well as processor-powered smarts to see obstacles. It is rarely derailed or stuck during a cleaning cycle. In my tests, it was the best at avoiding objects such as power cables. However, it's not as reliable at detecting pet waste or other hazards.
2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Eufy owned by Anker, has become an established brand in the world of low-cost robot vacuums. However, it didn't offer an option to
Mop Vacuum Robot. That changes with the X8 Hybrid, which has an impressive array of modern features and is able to compete against much more expensive models.
Laser navigation is the main selling point of this machine. Previous Eufy devices have created a rough map of your home utilizing infrared sensors and bumping into things however the X8's laser mapping system is much more accurate. It takes less time to create an extensive map of your home and can store multiple maps. This is ideal for multi-floored homes.
The X8 is still a decent vacuum on bare floors, slinging debris under its side brushes and into the 400ml dust bin with relative ease. Its tyres are adept at hugging edges and corners, even though they're circular. It's not the
best robot vacuum with mapping cat litter scooper, however as our tests show it only removes about 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.
There's a basic mopping mode which uses the same water tank as the vacuuming. While this is great for spills that aren't too big but you cannot regulate the amount of water it consumes, which will limit its effectiveness on more serious staining. That said, it does an excellent job of picking up pet hair, with a higher speed of pickup than the Roborock S7.
3. Miele RX2
The company is known for its quiet home appliances, Miele's RX2 robot vacuum is a great choice because of its cleaning power, stunning design and great navigation. But it has some operational hiccups which prevent it from being considered as the best overall smart robot vacuum.
The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping technique which uses LIDAR to map an area and a pair of 3D scanning cameras to detect and avoiding obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once the room has been mapped it is possible to assign virtual no go areas and preferred sections to the robot. You can also change the cleaning modes, initiate a manual clean or watch a live feed of the onboard cameras from the main screen.
The RX2 has excellent sensors that detect furniture and other obstructions instantly. And its sweeping and suction power are top of the line and cleans up surface debris from carpets of medium pile and dust in bare floors. It's not the most powerful robot on the market. As with many others, it's not a good climber and is prone to problems with things like metal threshold transition strips.
Some people buy a robot vacuum for the hands-off convenience of setting a schedule on an app and then forgetting about it for weeks at a time. But it's important that a robot can accomplish the task,

4. Shark ION
This budget
robot vacuum & mop looks like a typical robot, but it's an upgrade in performance and features. Its smart mapping system generates 3D and 2D maps of your home, and uses them to navigate and avoid obstacles. It's also able to detect common obstructions such as furniture legs and power cords in real-time. This combination of sensors along with a bump sensor, and an infrared drop sensor which keeps it off stairs, makes it one of the most agile vacs we've tested.
In our tests, it was able to could climb over the thick shag rugs and didn't get stuck on them (like the RoboVac 11s or Roomba 690). Its navigation skills were impressive as well; its composite score in carpet and bare floors was better than the competition and it was able to pick up 98.5 percent of the surface litter and embedded pet hair from our lab test samples.
The controls are simpler than the competition; there's an uniform cleaning button on the top. You can access it via the app, or by voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also schedule daily or weekly cleanings, create no-go zones and check its cleaning history. Ion is covered in a stylish dark gray plastic that feels and looks attractive in your home. Its rear dust bin is easy to empty and removing the filter the same.
5. Eufy 11S
If you're looking for a simple robotic vacuum that is simple and has no frills at a low cost, the Eufy 11S might be your best bet. It isn't equipped with some of the advanced features, such as digital mapping and Alexa integration, found in higher-end models however, if you don't require these features, you can save money with this model.
The robot is easy to setup and use. It does not require smartphone application or Wi-Fi pairing. However it does include a remote control which lets you select between various modes and adjust the suction levels. You can also set up a manual schedule to send the robotvac on a cleaning schedule.
During our tests during our tests, the 11S was extremely efficient in cleaning pet hair and dirt from hard floors and in low-pile carpets. Its slim profile allowed it to fit under furniture with low hanging and other items that some bulkier robots could not reach. It was also able to pass over doorway thresholds and transition from one type of floor to another.
The 11S, as with other robots, will also eat some items, including cords and cat toys. The manufacturer suggests that you prevent this from happening by keeping these items off the ground and using a cord organiser if possible. It also suggests that you regularly clean the dustbin, change the filters, and clean or change the brushes when required.
6. IRobot Roomba 980
The Roomba is the flagship model of iRobot's robot vacuum. It's costly, but it's the most powerful robot vacuum you can buy. Its self-navigating capabilities and environmental mapping are something to behold. It is more sophisticated in its automation than its competitors, such as the ability to set up virtual boundary markers with its mobile app. Although its app isn't the most responsive and the 980 may spin a bit when rolling over cables, it's still a very capable robot vacuum.
